Titanic, fish and ships

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome aboard the unsinkable Titanic: the world´s largest and fastest ocean liner, the ship of dreams. But beware, this time the famous boat is not cruising the icy waters of the Atlantic but the stage of the Alcázar Theatre, surrounded by the most enthusiastic audience you can imagine.
“Face 2 Face” theatre company strikes a universal chord in Titanic: Fish and Ships, their new play, exploring human arrogance and stupidity with a tale of the sea. Far from the very well-known Hollywood love story, the plot focuses on a versatile cast of actors and actresses that can sing, dance and even make you laugh to the sound of the English language.

The story begins between the waves of journalist Irwin Newitt´s nightmare. However, what seemed to be just a bad dream turns out to be a real tragedy. Once inside the Titanic, he tries to explain his sinking premonition but, unfortunately, all the passengers, blinded by the flashing lights of vanity, don´t care to listen. Well, not exactly everybody, as there is a tank full of shiny talking fishes, yearning for freedom, who do pay attention to the misunderstood reporter.
Two stowaways, a clumsy captain, an aristocratic couple whose aim is to be in New York in less than 3 hours, and of course an iceberg, make up this powerful visual combination where nothing is left to chance. An original and sophisticated staging provides a colourful setting for the play, embellished with live musical numbers which take us into the depths of an unreal ocean.

Come on! Be quick, as this maritime journey rushes as speedily as life does, and so swiftly that only a few can be saved at the end of the performance. Who will be the lucky and smart ones?
